Spring in the Kern River Valley
The snowpack this year is well above normal. The whitewater rafting season is expected to last well into the late summer months.
As there are numerous rafting companies that offer a varietly of rafting experiences we urge you to look at what each one has to offer. Some, for example offer quick and short trips down a section of the upper Kern while others offer two days trips or gear a trip towards more experienced whitewater enthusiasts. Be sure to check with each company for age and weight requirments.
Hiking trails are abundant here in the valley and offer vistas and wildlife viewing. Fresh air, birdwatching and abundant sunshine liven spirits and enrich our souls.
Mountain biking is enjoyed here by many cycling enthusiasts that come from all over the state.
We have visitors in the spring from Switzerland and Finland that yearly meet up with the Dynamic Soarers from Utah in an attempt to meet or beat the speed recond for Dynamic Soaring. Which by the way is a sport of remote controled gliders that take off from atop the local mountains.
Whatever it is you enjoy in the great outdoors, the Kern River Valley is sure to not dissappoint you!
